Everyone is able to learn how to play an instrument, whatever the age or ability; if you have the desire and the motivation to learn, then you have everything you need to get started.

Since 2003 I have been part of a project which visits primary schools one afternoon a week and teaches the children a bit about music and some of the instruments of the orchestra. We make sure that we always teach though interaction with the children, and allow them to take part at every stage. I have taken part in other projects including a collaboration with Netherhall School, Cambridge in which we listened to Saint-Saens’ Carnival of the Animals and then composed and performed some extra animals. I have also helped with various education projects at the Wigmore Hall, London. Allowing people to learn through practical experience is invaluable, and I always endeavour to teach in this way if at all possible.

As well as group teaching I also give a lot of one-to-one lessons and chamber coaching. I have been teaching Violin, Viola, Piano, Theory and Singing privately since 2008, and have a wealth of experience in teaching people of all ages and standards. I have taught 5-year olds and 80-year olds, and ages in between, and the standard ranges from the complete beginner to post grade 8. I have been awarded the prestigious LRAM Teaching Diploma, and have a fully up-to-date CRB check.
