EDUCATION

Education and Outreach form an important part of Peter’s musical life. Regularly working with the Education department of the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Peter plans and leads interactive pre-concert talks, which introduce families to the concert programme and enable the children to re-create key elements of the pieces with the instruments they have brought with them. He also contributes to workshops and coaching sessions with schools and orchestras, helping prepare them for upcoming concerts and projects. He has held these sessions in various London schools, and, further afield, in South Korea, Myanmar, and Dubai. Other collaborations have included projects with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, the Wigmore Hall, and Netherhall School in Cambridge.

As a teacher Peter enjoys working with players of all ages, young and old, and sharing his interest and enthusiasm with like-minded people. He has taught in schools in Cambridge and London and regularly prepares pupils for music exams, music college entry, and professional auditions.
